For a while, I’ve wanted to create a space that’s a little more personal a place to share the moments that happen between appointments, the lessons my patients unknowingly teach me, and the thoughts I bring home after the office closes.
So today, I’m introducing a new series called Notes Between Patients.
I hope it feels like we’re sitting together over coffee after work.

Why I Started Writing This…
Hi, friends. 💛
For a long time, SmileSnack has been my little corner of the internet where I could share simple dental tips and hopefully make someone feel a little less afraid of the dentist.
And I love that.
I truly do.
But over the past few months, I’ve realized something…
There are so many stories that never fit into a dental tip.
Stories that happen in the few quiet minutes between one patient and the next.
Stories about kindness.
About fear.
About laughter.
About people.
Because the truth is…
Working in a dental office has taught me so much more than dentistry.
It’s taught me that every patient walks through the door carrying something you can’t see.
Some carry anxiety.
Some carry embarrassment because they haven’t been to the dentist in years.
Some carry excitement because they’re finally getting the smile they’ve always wanted.
And some simply need someone to tell them,
“You’re okay. We’re going to take care of you.”
Those moments stay with me long after the office lights turn off.
They’ve become little memories I carry home.
For a while, I kept those stories to myself.
Then one day I thought…
What if I shared them?
Not because they’re extraordinary.
But because they’re real.
Because maybe someone reading them will feel understood.
Maybe someone will realize they’re not the only one who’s afraid.
Maybe someone will smile after a long day.
That’s how Notes Between Patients was born.
A place where I can step away from instruments, X-rays, and toothbrushes for a moment…
…and simply write.
About the people I meet.
The lessons they unknowingly teach me.
The funny moments that make an ordinary Tuesday unforgettable.
The quiet thoughts that happen between appointments.
